What data I collect

When you send a message through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, topic, message and your preference for how to be contacted. If you provide them, I also receive your phone number and company name. I receive the same details if you contact me by email or phone. When you book a time from my calendar, I receive your name, email address and whatever you write in the booking form (for example your phone number and topic).

What the data is used for

I use the data only to reply to your message, to make a proposal and to carry out agreed work. The legal basis is legitimate interest in replying to your enquiry, and the preparation and performance of a contract. I don't send marketing messages without your permission, and I don't sell or pass on your data to anyone.

Course account

If you receive an account for online courses, I store your email address, which courses you have bought and which videos you have marked as watched. If you give your name, I store that too. I can't see your password, because it is stored encrypted. The data is held in the Supabase service (Supabase Inc.) in the EU, in Stockholm. I use it to deliver the course, and the legal basis is the contract. When you log in, your browser stores the login so that you stay logged in. This is necessary for the service to work and is not tracking.

Retention

I keep the data for as long as handling the matter requires. Accounting law may require billing details to be kept longer.

Service providers

The website and contact form run on Netlify (Netlify, Inc., United States). Data transfers to the United States are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU standard contractual clauses. Payment for and use of the online course take place in the Campwire service, which has its own privacy policy. Booking is in Google Calendar (Google Workspace, Google Ireland Ltd): the booking page opens in Google's service, and Google sends the confirmation and calendar invitation. Visitor statistics are collected with Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd) only if you give your permission.

Cookies

The website uses analytics cookies only if you accept them. Google Analytics then collects information about how the site is used: which pages are visited, where visitors come from and what device they use. I can't identify individual people from the data, and it is used only to develop the website. The site doesn't use advertising or marketing cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the page. Fonts are loaded from the site's own server.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. Send your request to ilkka@ilkkarajala.fi. You can also lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
